Graduate Student Rebecca Hardesty Receives UCSD’s Interdisciplinary Research Award

Congratulations to graduate student Rebecca Hardesty for receiving UCSD’s Interdisciplinary Research Award! This award supports Rebecca’s dissertation, Biology and Pedagogy: From Public Outreach to Training Future Experts, advised by her committee chair Dr. Morana Alač, explores how science education in the 1970s have transformed into more specific science training that reflect increasingly rigorous standards of biomedical research. She was selected for this grant in part because of the interdisciplinary nature of her research which uses historical and anthropological methods to study a neurobiology laboratory here at UCSD within a theoretical framework that draws from Philosophy, Science Studies, Communication, and History.  Great work, Rebecca!
