About

CRLP UC San Diego collaborates with partnership districts to support and sustain continuous school improvement specific to reading and language instruction, including the implementation of California State Board adopted instructional materials, state standards/frameworks, and the Common Core State Standards. Our offerings position the needs of under-served populations at the forefront of participants’ learning, such as the needs of English Learners (ELs), socioeconomically disadvantaged students, and newcomers to the CA/US educational system.

A defining hallmark of CRLP UC San Diego is how teacher leadership development is promoted throughout our selection of reading and language professional learning options, as well as how teacher leadership is sustained after initial training occurs. CRLP UC San Diego’s projects, institutes, and leadership invitationals are delivered by current classroom practitioners who not only possess a strong background in research-based pedagogy, but also an authentic understanding of the successes and challenges associated with teaching in the classroom.

CRLP UC San Diego serves schools and districts in Region 9, which includes all of San Diego County.
